Generality of the Zamioculcas zamiifolia plant:

Zamioculcas zamiifolia is a semi-succulent tropical plant, with long leaves composed of many leathery and fat leaflets, lanceolate, glossy, bright green; average growth. Strong tendency to produce suckers. It is found in the forests of Tanzania where it was found and scientifically described in the mid-19th century by the "plant hunter" Conrad Loddiges and his son George, owners of a famous nursery of rare plants imported from Africa, Australia and the Americas.

Cultivation and Care of the Zamioculcas zamiifolia Plant:

Very easy and durable plant suitable even for the less experienced, ideal in the home and office. After purchase, it must be repotted in a container slightly larger than the previous one. Thereafter, repotting should be done every two years. Use high-quality green plant potting soil or universal potting soil. Never use soil from other crops. It requires very little attention, also recommended for those who have no experience in plant care; the only two important things are: lots of light and never too wet soil. The stems that dry out should be cut by cutting the stem at the base. It is important to keep the foliage free from dust by cleaning the leaves with a soft brush, once a month or when necessary. Act gently because the leaves come off easily. It requires moderate watering, for the sole purpose of moistening the soil if it is completely dry (usually every 7-10 days). Empty the saucer of unabsorbed water after about 15 minutes. It is useful to vaporize rainwater or non-calcareous water on the foliage, in the winter months, when the air in the rooms becomes very hot and dry. Zamioculcas has a low nutritional requirement, it must be fertilized all year round only every 15-20 days. Never exceed the dose of fertilizer: better a little than too much. Before fertilizing it is good to moisten the soil.
