Gelsemium sempervirens, commonly called yellow jasmine or Carolina jasmine (for its origin), is an evergreen plant belonging to the Loganiaceae family, characterized by a rapid and vigorous development. Cultivated in the open ground it can even exceed 2 meters in height. Gelsemium sempervirens has shiny lanceolate leaves, 4-5 centimeters long and bright yellow flowers. During the flowering period, bunches of tubular flowers appear, very fragrant and yellow, similar to those of the yellow oleander of Peru. The homeopathic remedy is obtained through the dilutions and dynamizations to which the mother tincture is subjected, in turn obtained from the roots of the creeper (picked just before flowering). It is also used in case of inflammation of the mucous membranes, mostly belonging to the apparatuses respiratory and digestive. It can also be used to treat fever and flu states, psychosomatic diarrhea, headaches and headaches due to stress and anxiety attacks.
