Generalities:

The Nociara Olive Tree is medium size with a rather upright bearing, medium-thick foliage with long and very flexible fruiting branches. The large elliptical leaves with a delicate surface give the plant a highly aesthetic appearance. The color is deep dark green on the upper page, and light green on the lower one. Flowering is late and very abundant and the abortion of the ovary is very low, which is why almost all flowers will bear fruit. The Nociara Olive Tree has an intense, slightly ripe fruity flavor. Robust, based on toasted, vegetal and aromatic sensations with a bitter note, accompanied by a good spicy, with pleasant sensations of grass and tomato. The drupe is ellipsoidal, slightly asymmetrical, a little pointed and curved, medium in size with a weight medium that oscillates between 3 grams and 3.5 grams.

Cultivation and Care:

The Nociara Olive Tree, more than the minimum winter temperatures, however, fears the sudden changes in temperature that can cause splits in the trunks and branches. Some parts of the plant are particularly sensitive to the action of frost: the leaves, the buds and the bark. The latter is torn not only in the twigs, but also in the larger branches and in the trunk. The Nociara Olive Tree is a plant that prefers arid environments while it fears excessive humidity, except in spring, in correspondence with the maximum vegetative activity. Calcareous and dry soils are ideal, but good productions can also be had well in clayey soils, if well drained, and in sandy soils, as long as they are sufficiently irrigated.
